Author About Town: Newton, NJ

In an earlier post today, I announced that I’ll be doing a book reading/discussion/signing event at Black Dog Books in Newton, NJ on July 15 from 6:30 – 9:00pm.

“I want to attend your reading, Mike, but it’s a long way to go. What else is going on in Newton, NJ that day?”

Glad you asked! Come early or stay late, I’ll be in town throughout the afternoon and well into the night, and there’s plenty of things to do that can make the trip worthwhile, all within walking distance. Free one-hour on-street parking is available on Spring Street, and public parking is available one block over on Mill Street.

Meet the Author: Michael E. Dellert to appear at Black Dog Books, Newton NJ - July 15!

Can’t Stay Late?

Then come early! I’ll be at the Spring Street Pub & Grill for dinner with my daughter from 4:00-5:30pm, before I head over to Black Dog to set up. If you can’t stay for the reading, stop by Black Dog first to pick up your advance copies, then bring them by the pub, ask for me, and come by our table. Or come early, join us for dinner, and walk over to Black Dog with us afterward. The more, the merrier!

Make a Night of It

Sixties Superstars Gary Puckett & The Union Group are performing that night at the nearby Newton Theater!

Gary Puckett and The Union Gap was one of the most successful musical groups of the sixties, when they achieved worldwide prominence. Gary’s unmistakable voice garnered six consecutive gold records, including signature hits Young Girl, Woman Woman and Lady Willpower.

Show starts at 8pm, so stop into Black Dog on your way to the Theater and say hi! Or stop by The Barrel House afterwards and find me! I’ll be holding up the bar!

The Barrel House Adults Only After-Party

When all is said and done at Black Dog Books, we’re sending the kid home with Grandma and going across the road to The Barrel House for some adult beverages!

I’ll be drinking wine and uisce like a Hedge King, so come along with me to enjoy great food and drink, live music, and keep the conversation going.

How often do you have an opportunity to get the author drunk and ask what you really want to know, and maybe what the kids ought not to hear?

The after-party starts when we shut down at Black Dog, and goes on until whenever (closing time is midnight).
